The mine pit formed in the 1910s, that is practically the little brother of the Mine Lake in Öreghegy.

Once it had been a mining centre, later the waste of the town was disposed here, finally it got a soil cover and the formation of the vegetation could start. Now it is a protected area. Its rock is extraordinary, too, it contains granite. Few people know it, though it offers remarkable natural values, rich flora and fauna. It provides a great, refreshing green belt recreation after the lakeside relax.
