Bishop’s Palace

One of the most significant Louis Seize style building in the country. It was being built between 1788 and 1801 using the stones and the site of the former Coronation Cathedral of the Virgin Mary Provost Church.

The palace and its garden are in the medieval church territory, literally it was built on the ruins. Its library is about 70 thousand volumes, it contains medieval codes, incunabulas and rare books. One of Bálint Balassi’s rare poems is treasured here. Its magnificant garden hides unique and rare plants. It can be visited at Advent time.
