Matthias king was bonded to Fehérvár with many strings, his wedding ceremony was held here as well. Beatrice of Aragon had had an adventurous travelling for 3 months from Naples to Fehérvár.

The king lavished his fiancée on splendid gifts, treasures. Their wedding ceremony was held in The Basilica of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary accompanied by great fireworks. This was the bigger fireworks in Hungary. The monument was made for the 500th anniversary of the king’s death in 1990 by Miklós Melocco.
