Ybl Memorial Plaque, Jókai street

As early as 1905, the idea arose within the Vörösmarty Circle to dedicate a memorial plaque to the city's famous native son, Miklós Ybl. The creation of the plaque was originally planned for the centenary of his birth (1914).

However, the plan was never realised due to the outbreak of the First World War. In 1934, the idea of erecting the plaque was brought up again. The bronze relief was created in 1942, but its installation never took place at that time, and it was subsequently damaged during the war. Members of the Székesfehérvár Goldsmith Art Circle restored the relief, and it was finally placed on the wall of the Vörösmarty Mihály County Library in 1964. Several sources also identify Éva B. Lőte as a co-creator alongside the 'castle builder' (Jenő Bory).
