The relationship between Jenő Bory and his wife was the beginning of a truly romantic love story that persisted for several decades. It is no coincidence that the statue inspired by this love was erected here, in the city's Wedding Hall.
The statue 'The Kiss' is one of Jenő Bory's most iconic works, which he created at the age of just 27 (1906). It holds great significance in the artist's career, as it was with this sculpture that he broke into the art scene, after which he was overwhelmed with orders . The „KISS” is one of the most famous statues in Bory Castle and can be found in several versions—visitors can admire it in marble, pyrobasalt, ceramic, and plaster. What we see here is a plaster replica. The two marble versions located in the Chapel of Conjugal Love at Bory Castle are unique in that they reveal the moment of the kiss from both sides, as if cut in half.
