The triangle -shaped Saint Stephen Square is one of the most beautiful square of the town, it follows the former town wall in its form.Most of its buildings were built on the ruins of townwall, l from its stones. In the middle of the square St Stephen’s bronze equestrian statue is standing on a black, Swedish granite pedestal.

On its face with strict determination: it does not depict the greatest saint of the Hungarian middle age but the Indomitable ruler, who gave a new direction to the Hungarian people with relentless vigour.
