Wathay Ferenc Constable dignified statue is the artwork of Elek Lux. Wathay recaptured Székesfehérvár in 1601 from the Turkish. The Sultan could not acquiesce in the defeat, attacked again and he could managed to occupy the town. In August 1602 during the seige of the town the wounded Wathay and his soldiers were captured by the Turkish.
While he was in captivity in Constantinople he was writing the story of the seige in poems; its title: Székesfejérvár veszésérül való história. 5 years later maybe his family paid a huge amount ransom and he was set free. In honor of the hero a memorial tree was planted in the park in 2018.
