Castlewall Park and remains of the wall

From here the panorama is splendid to the former castlewall. The medieval castlewall had been demolished in the 18th century, on its place a supporting wall was built which separated the hillock of the early royal castle from the moat and the beyond territories.

This wallpart can be seen at the foot of the park as the parts of the buildings or closure of the gardens. In some places broken with slots or walled up.

At the north part (to Liszt F. street) the ruins of the former tower with steps can be seen and it is worth looking closely a bit. Jenő Bory’s Bishop fountain is the gem of the park; its top a gallant soldier holding a sword, on its pedestal there are the four bishops’ statues.
