11. Saint Emeric Statue

The Saint Emeric statue next tot he church is an artwork of Elek Lux. The statue got hurt in the World War II.

It was hidden in the diocese garden in secret to save from the destruction. In 1990, when the political situtation could it be possible, it was dug out so we can see it in a honorable place. According to the St Emeric legend the only heir of St Stephen was wounded to death by a wild boar on 2nd September, 1031. A promising king was lost, although the posterity gained one more Hungarian saint.
